YAAO/HEAC Youth from Baldwin Park - who fight obesity - featured on the Katie Couric show!!

Last month, Youth Leaders from Baldwin Park were interviewed by CBS (as a feature on Obesity for the Katie Couric show) to speak about the work that they have done with obesity prevention in their community. These youth - who are part of Healthy Eating Active Communities (HEAC) and Youth Activism Against Obesity (YAAO) - have worked hard to make their environments healthier for themselves and their families.

Although the feature story edited out reference to the work they have done with WereFedUp.com, these youth still provided a good model of youth making a positive difference by working together. Connie Gonzalez, Baldwin Park's influential Youth Leader, was highlighted on the feature story.
